Meet Rob, the Roaming Orthotist
I’m Robert Heideman, Principal Orthotist and founder of Roam Orthotics. I graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2015, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people move more freely in their everyday environments.
Experience across the world
I spent three years working in Sweden and Norway, learning from different clinical approaches, and volunteered for several months in Cambodia supporting communities with limited access to specialist care. Those years taught me to listen carefully, adapt to each person’s environment and never assume one solution fits everyone.
A pioneer in 3D scanning and printing
Digital workflows let me capture precise measurements and design custom orthoses with greater accuracy, with less time and discomfort than traditional casting.
Breaking barriers to access
Distance, mobility, cost confusion or not knowing where to start shouldn’t stop anyone getting orthotic support. That’s why Roam comes to you.
